In this tutorial we will be examining how to apply a texture, in this case a subtle gradient, to the world background in Blender. Textures can vastly improve the presentation of your model.

Hello!
Can I use a texture for background in Blender 2.5, too?
I don’t find a way, to select the texture in the “world-menu”.
Best regards
Steff

I also have problems finding this in 2.5
They seem to have removed the option to use a texture for the world background
Great tutorial though, cudos to you for making all these awesome tuts :]
Though if I open your blender file in 2.5 it works just great and I can see the texture and everything.
Weird.
The option is still there, but since they have separated the texture buttons from the materials buttons you have to do it slightly differently. First go to the world buttons and THEN go to the textures buttons. Add your texture, adjust as desired then go back to the world buttons and adjust further.
Cheers,
Jonathan
