Something we realized is though there are plenty of tantalizing
video blender tutorials all over our site, there wasn’t a clearly defined starting point. As with anything there has to be a beginning or an initial handshake of “Hey, nice to meet you” to really get started on the right foot.
This is why we have created this dedicated “Getting Started with Blender” page to help break the ice and get introductions out of the way.
Below are 7 fairly short video tutorials that will help overview the main sections of Blender that you will need to get started. Once you have finished watching the specific videos you will then be ready to tackle some of our other tutorials in the section by clicking on the category links located in our main menu under tutorials. Or use our search bar to dig for something specific.
If that is still not enough to tickle your fancy you are welcome to pre-order our complete 2.5 training series which will cover things in a much more indepth pass. Or send us an e-mail with your learning needs and we will do our best to accommodate.
Though we don’t have .blend files for these videos, each high resolution video will be available for download for all Citizen Members.
If you feel there is something we are missing here please let us know and we will continue to build up this getting started with Blender page.
With the introduction of Blender 2.5, we are very excited to be one of the first to offer a complete, introductory, video training bundle to the Blender community. Not only will this bundle make the transition from previous versions of Blender to Blender 2.5 (Eventually 2.6) easier, but it also will give the new user the boost they need to get up to speed quickly.
This is an exciting time to be involved with Blender, CG Cookie is here to make sure you know how to use it! Not only that, but in order to further support the development of blender. 5USD from ever bundle order we will be donated to the foundation.
